A deep dive into twenty weeks of preperation for the Port Macquarie 70.3…..
Over the next twenty weeks I’ll be documenting my training, racing and preparation in the lead up to the Port Macquarie 70.3 in Australia on 5th May 2019.
You don’t have to search hard to find blogs from professional athletes documenting thirty hour training weeks with 10KM swim sets, bonkers wattage on bike rides and lightening fast runs fueled on a diet of kale and brown rice. Interesting to read because let’s face it, most of us would love to be a professional athlete but their world is far, far removed from our weekly quest to achieve that mythical ‘feel’ for the water or trail run with dog lead in one hand and poo bags in the other! My goal is to make this an honest and open account of what goes into training and racing for someone like myself, who I like to think of as an enthusiast, a lover of all things endurance based, a jack of all trades, ‘quick, but not rapid.’
If you find the things I write insightful, useful or interesting then by all means follow the coming weeks and chip in with comments or questions if you wish.
